A Personal Message From Kevin Moriarty

Dear Photoshop Newcomer,

Photoshop is an astounding tool and can be used to create some impressive and amazing graphics. In fact, it can be the only graphic tool you will ever need. The problem is, its hard to use at first.

When I first bought Photoshop I was excited, I've seen other people's graphics and couldn't wait to make some great effects myself.

But when I opened the program for the first time I was lost confused and frustrated trying to achieve the most basic task.

Everything seemed so hard I felt like I needed a degree in photoshop just to get started.

I didn't want to become a graphic designer, I just wanted to create a few effects and clean up some photos, I didn't want to read the huge manual.

I wanted the shortcuts, I didn't want to know everything, I just wanted to get it done for example:

  • I wanted to know how to remove red eyes from photographs
  • I wanted to add drop shadows to text and images

  • I wanted to crop and resize pictures

  • I wanted to make cool looking graphic

  • I wanted to make funny and fun pictures

Doing these common tasks should have been fast and easy.

I figured other people were in the same situation, so I made these videos, templates, and resources to help you and myself out.

A Simple and Effective Method To Use Photoshop Like an Expert, Without Being an Expert

Did you know photoshop even has video effects, here's a Short 40 second video of me levitating an apple:

You can get the same effect for yourself in less than 5 minutes. I show you the fast easy way to do it.

Can These Videos Work For You?

Thousands of people have already used these with amazing results.

Check out what some of our amazed customers are saying about the Photoshop For Real People Video Tutorials:

As a beginner to photoshop, this is just what I needed, it got me up to speed quickly. I use photoshop to creating and
optimizing images for the web and have found it is still the best for this. This course made it easy to do, thanks
- Dan Corollo

When you figure I started with a knowledge base of zero it is amazing what your DVDs have taught me. It is nice to know that I can go back to the DVDs at any time, and as often as I need to refresh my recollection of the subject matter. Thanks for a great product.
- Brad Hoyt

Your CBT’s are by far the best ones I have seen for this type of training.
- Ryan Anderson

I just wanted to let you know that the technical advice was EXCELLENT. I really appreciate the time you took to write out these directions for me....especially when it was not a problem with the DVD. I applied your easy directions and was able to fix the problem in about 5 minutes. I have never gotten such a complete and accurate response from a customer service rep.Thank you so much for your help...now I can get to learning Photoshop.
- Ken Johnson

"It’s been more than a week since we’re using your photoshop course. It’s EXCELLENT. Thank you for the wonderful product."
- Ken Brown

"You need to let people know that they get much more than they pay for. Although your training is less expensive, it’s far better than your competitor’s. I’ve had several users exclaim that something "clicked" for them while using your training."
- Matthew Waters

"I just wanted to take a moment to bring you up to date on Fullman’s deployment of your Training Solution. In a \"sound bite\", It’s Great! We have completed loading and deploying the training packages and student acceptance has been great! I have received several comments from both staff and students concerning the quality of your product. We are pleased with the initial response."
- Michael Snedler

"I recently purchased the Photoshop Computer Based training. I have to say that I have been a Photoshop user for several years and there were items here that I didn’t know existed. I cannot wait to venture on to your other classes. These are the best tutorials I have ever been introduced to. Thank you so much."
- Barbara Wilmowsky

"Great for those with a slower learning curve!"

I am a professional photographer by trade but I have mild adult ADD so I get nervous about learning new skills. I have shot with film for the last 7+ years and never needed to do digital editing. When I began shooting with professional digital equipment six months ago nothing scared me more than the digital enhancement and techniques learning curve. I was using PS Elements because I was affraid of the more complex, PS7. Kevin's tutorial has made the learning so much easier than I expected and now I don't use elements very often at all. I just started his turoials last week but I am already able to edit my own and my clients photos in ways that I never thought I could. Because the lessons are all done in short spurts it's easy for me to stick with it. I learn what I need to learn in a timely mannor and its fun and easy! I am confident within a few weeks my skills will be even tripple what they are today.

"Great tutorial for novice and intermediate users"

This has to be the best Photoshop tutorial I have ever taken. I have tried a variety of online tutorials and I have also invested in the "dummies" books and they don't compare to this course. The tutorials are clear and accurate. They are easy to follow and well thought out. The class is structured in the best way possible; simple to complex concepts. They don't bowl you over with a bunch of complex jargon right away. They really know how to answer questions before they're asked. I don't know how other people do it, but when I take a course, I always ask my self some questions:
"what if I do it this way?"
"Are there other ways to do this?"
"When should I use this?"
etc.
For almost every question I asked myself, the videos have an answer. Its like someone is right there with you, holding your hand. If a class does that, that's when you know that the developers took time to understand their audience; something a lot of computer and software classes don't do. This is just a masterpiece and I hope they come out with an advanced version.

"Hits the spot"

I'm very new to Photoshop but an experienced web developer. I was looking for a source to get me into Photoshop because every time I loaded the software I just shut it down because I was so intimidated ...

No online tutorials made me comfortable enough with the software but I always really wanted to learn. I said enough is enough and thought I would get training straight from someone who knew their stuff.

This Tutorial is EXACTLY what I was looking for! It's straight skill based but does not lack the concept-explanation approach. You work with Start and End examples off the CD to learn. This is perfect. This method is very intuitive.

And what's more is that the tutorials aren't tutorials on how to do various tricks that leave you in the dark about the essentals. Somehow the class is set up so that the tutorials teach you the essential concepts of Photoshop through doing tricks!

So you learn the concepts that enable you to really use the software as it's truly needed while learning some cool tricks.

For the first time I'm actually using Photoshop doing things I thought I would never be able to.

The class is well thought out and put together. You will get every penny's worth out of it. If you are new to photoshop then please get this class.

"A delightful, fast jump into Photoshop"

I give this product five stars because it is well thought out, efficient in its execution, clear in its demonstrations, and free of mistakes. I've used other video instruction and I can say that they have honed their teaching format down to a lean and mean science.

Does the Class teach you everything you can know about Photoshop? No. Does it go into GREAT DETAIL on all subjects? No. Is it warm and fuzzy? No. Does it touch on almost everything Photoshop can do? Yes. Does it make you feel comfortable using Photoshop? Yes. Is it a great place to start? Yes.

I went through the videos with a fine-tooth-comb and here are some of my findings and thoughts. As a long time user of Photoshop I have started to collect some opinions on this software masterpiece.

Some more complaints and compliments about the course are:
- It is inconsistent about mentioning keyboard shortcuts. Some tools, like the pen tool, are mentioned.
- It takes you on a useful journey through the subject of photo retouching
- The subject of selections and using them is well introduced but forget about learning any nuances.
- The Layers section was good as far as it went. Clear, concise steps led me right along. Even Layer Sets were touched upon. An excerpt explained nicely the background layer and how it is handled.
- You learn to use the extraction tool.
- You learn to use another wonderful tool called the `Healing Brush'.
- You learn all about the new Photoshop Pattern Maker. Great tool I might add.
- The lessons on working in ImageReady were of no interest to me. You're on your own here.

If you are new to Photoshop you better get this class. If you want `warm-and-fuzzy' when you're learning from a hands on course, you will not find it here. This course will get you moving around inside of Photoshop. Try it, you'll like it.

Things I like about your Photoshop training:
very informative
nicely organized
large collection of sample photos
I impressed my boss and family with the cool effects
- Geoff Martin

Even though I have used photoshop for years, I did every lesson in order. I am very experienced with photoshop yet I was constantly surprised by all the new things I learned. The videos are perfectly organized. You have made and excellent introductory Adobe Photoshop CS3 class.
- Allen McClelland
